The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents met on August 18, 2021 in Roanoke, Virginia. The meeting was called to order by Gail Abbott at 12:02 p.m. Business: The previous meeting on July 21, 2021 was a training meeting only, as such no minutes were kept. The Chapter extends its sympathy to Rebecca Donehew and her family on the loss of Paul Donehew. His presence at our meetings will be greatly missed. Motion made and seconded and approved unanimously to reimburse Gail Abbott $106.21 for funeral flowers. Training Program: The Educational portion started at 12:07 p.m. and concluded at 1:52 p.m. Those in attendance and who sign the Sign-In Sheet will receive 2 hours of Ethics CE. Our next meeting will be September 15, 2021, topic and presenter to be determined. There being no further business a motion made and seconded and approved unanimously to adjourn. |

The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents met via Zoom on September 15, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Gail Abbott at 12:00 p.m. Business: Motion (Gail) made and Seconded (Bill) and Approved unanimously to approve the August 18, 2021 minutes as posted on the web site. The Treasurer's report was given. Motion made and seconded and approved unanimously to reimburse Charles Spencer $192.99 and to pay Janeson Keeley $225.00 for another year for our web site www.brcea.org. Those in attendance discussed meeting options and webinar functionality. For the time being, meetings with education will be conducted virtually as webinars. Covid numbers permitting, three or four in person meetings per year will be held going forward. Our next meeting will be October 20, 2021, with Knox Wimberly tentatively scheduled to present on the topic of Child Tax Credit and Advanced Child Tax Credit. Plans were made for webinars in November and January, with no meeting currently planned for December. There being no further business a motion made and seconded and approved unanimously to adjourn. The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents met on August 17, 2022 at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, Virginia. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by Knox Wimberly (Instructor). The Education portion of the meeting began at 12:25 p.m. Knox Wimberly, EA led the discussion on the Nuts and Bolts of 1099MISC and 1099NEC IRS Program Number: QSRNU-T-00559-22-I. The Educational portion ended at 1:25 p.m. Those in attendance for the hour and signing the Attendance Sheet will be awarded 1 hour of CPE. The Chapter appreciated Knox Wimberly stepping up to provide the day's training. Our Sympathy goes out to our President, Gail Abbott on the death of her Aunt.
