The August 16, 2017 meeting was held at Famous Anthony's Roanoke VA and was called to order at 12:00 noon by President David Tanner. Guests were welcomed and recognized. Treasurer report was given by Gunther Greimel. The minutes from the July 2017 meeting were presented and approved. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:40 and was presented by Tom Tanner, E.A. with a focus on converting LLC to S-Corp. and the IRS rules governing the requirements for converting these entities and the procedure for the necessary paper work while maintaining the integrity of the entity. The Presentation concluded at 1:35 PM. The next meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's Williamson Road Roanoke, VA with a presentation by Ley Mills on Getting Transcripts. The September meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:40 p.m. by David Tanner. Business: The August minutes were presented and approved. A motion was made and approved for the payment for the web site maintenance. The educational portion of the meeting began at 12:40 p.m. Ley Mills began his presentation on Get Transcripts and e-Services. The educational portion concluded at 1:35 p.m. 1 hour of Continuing Education will be awarded to all participants that signed in, remained for the entire session and listed their PTINs. The next meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's Williamson Road Roanoke, VA on October 18, 2017 on Ethics: The IRS Whistle Blower Program with Benny Montgomery as the guest speaker. The October 18, 2017 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's Roanoke VA. Motion was made to approve the September minutes. Motion second and approved. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM by David Tanner. A financial report was given by Gunther Greimel. The nominating committee announced the slate of officers for the coming year with elections to be held in December. Charles Spencer gave an informative report on proper filing of a 706 form and the necessity of filing this form for Executor/Administrator and future claims again the estate. The education portion of the meeting on The Whistleblower Program began at 12:38 and was given by Benny Montgomery. Information was presented for the requirements of filing a claim for the Whistleblower reward and the required information to file this claim and concluded at 1:30 PM. Meeting adjourned at 2:00 P.M.
