The December 20, 2017 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at the home of Rebecca Donehew. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM by David Tanner. A financial report was given by Gunther Greimel. Motion made to approve October Minutes Approved. Announcement of officers for the coming year was presented all officers were voted and approved. David Tanner gave a presentation on taxation of annuities, life insurance policies and inherited IRA's beginning at 12:50 and concluded at 1:40. There was also a question and answer session on the process of taxability and reporting on the reporting of the taxable benefits. The next meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's Williamson Road Roanoke, VA, January 17 at 12:00 noon. A presentation on Data Security will be given by Ley Mills. The meeting adjourned at 2:00 PM. The January 26, 2018 meeting was held at Famous Anthony's Roanoke VA and was called to order at 12:30 p.m. by President David Tanner. Guests were welcomed and recognized. Treasurer report was given by Gunther Greimel. The minutes from December 2017 meeting were presented and approved. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:40 p.m. and was presented by Herbert D Mills with a focus on Practitioner Data Breach program number QSRNU-T-00325-17-1. The presentation concluded at 1:40 p.m. The next meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's on Williamson Rd., Roanoke, VA. Meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m. Rebecca Donehew EA Secretary |
