The August 17, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at the Porterhouse Restaurant, 126 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA 24052. In the absence of the President, David Tanner; Michael Harrison, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the July 20, 2016 meeting. Fritz Greimel, Treasurer, gave a treasurer's report. A discussion on upcoming training followed. Our next meeting will be in Lynchburg, location to be announced, and will be on Capital and Operating Leases by John Webb, EA. The education portion; Rental Issues, began at 1:10 p.m. by the instructor, Michael Harrison, EA and concluded at 2:05 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 2:10 p.m. Charles Spencer, EA Acting Secretary |

The September 21, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at the Porterhouse Restaurant, 126 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA 24052. President, David Tanner, called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m. David introduced Heather Greenwell, VASEA Society Administrator. Heather made a few remarks about the IRS revamp of the CE program and upcoming VASEA training, and expanded NAEA listings. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the August 17, 2016 meeting. Motion passed. Fritz Greimel, Treasurer, gave a treasurer's report. A discussion of upcoming BRC, VASEA, NCPE, NATP, VT training was held. David asked for member's BRC program suggestions. A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of the web site expenses (10/1/2016 – 9/30/2017); web site hosting, domain name registration, and the yearly updating service; total cost $339.99. Motion passed. The education portion; Tax Leases from the Lessee Perspective, began at 12:52 p.m. by the instructor, John Webb, EA and concluded at 1:50 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m. Charles Spencer, EA Acting Secretary |

The October 19, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. Motion was made to approve the minutes from the September meeting. Motion passed. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:25 PM with Gail Abbott presenting a program on Installment Sales: Repossession and personal residence followed with discussion, questions and answers. The program concluded at 1:15 PM. There will be no meeting in November. December meeting will be held at Becky Donehew's house with Ley Mills on Offer in Compromise. Meeting adjourned at 1:30 PM.
