The May 18, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Ippy's Restaurant in Rocky Mount VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. Motion was made by Gunther Greimel to approve meeting minutes from January and April motion seconded by Richard Turner. The education committee gave the schedule for the upcoming meetings. A treasurer report was given. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:59 PM with a presentation by Richard Turner on business planning with discussion and questions following. The education portion concluded at 2:00 PM. 1 hour of CPE was presented. The next scheduled meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's 460 in Roanoke VA. With Gail Abbott presenting education on the topic of Casualty Losses. Meeting was adjourned at 2:15 PM. Rebecca Donehew Secretary |

The June 29, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at the Botetourt Library (Blue Ridge Location) in Roanoke, VA. This was our rescheduled meeting from June 15, 2016. The meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m. by David Tanner, President. A Motion was made, seconded, and approved to approve the minutes from May 18, 2016. David Tanner reported we now need to book an appointment before going to the IRS office in Roanoke. You book the appointment by calling the IRS. Gunther Greimel was absent so there was no Treasurer's report. Gail Abbott and others discussed upcoming training topics and locations. We discussed two new locations; El Rodeo on 460 and Jersey Lilly's on 419. It was decided to hold the July 20 meeting at Jersey Lilly's on 419; Bill Barbour is to book this location. The August 17 meeting is to be held in Lynchburg; Mike Harrison is to book whatever location is acceptable to him. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:36 p.m., with a presentation by Gail Abbott, EA, on Casualty Losses on Business Property and questions followed. The education portion concluded at 1:31 p.m. 1 hour of CPE was completed. The next scheduled meeting will be held at Jersey Lilly's on Rt. 419 in Roanoke VA, with Rebecca Donehew, EA, presenting education on the topic of International Issues. The July 20, 2016 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter was held at Jersey Lilly's in Salem, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 noon by David Tanner, President. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the June 29, 2016 minutes. Fritz Greimel gave a treasurer's report and update about fees. Gail Abbott from the Education Committee gave a report on the upcoming meetings. August 17th meeting will be given by Michael Harrison on Rental Issues. A Lynchburg location to be announced. The education portion of the program began at 1:00 PM on the topic of International Tax Issues given by Rebecca Donehew, EA and concluded with a discussion on these topics, the program ended at 1:50 PM.
