The August 19, 2015 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Lynchburg VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:38 with John Webb presenting the first part of the education on setting up business types and the tax consequences. Mike Harrison gave the second portion of the education with discussion on C-Corps and some benefits now associated with C-Corps. The presentation was concluded at 1:50 P M. One hour of CPE will be awarded for this meeting. The next meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's, 3737 Challenger Ave., Roanoke, VA. The program will on Issues Affecting Taxation of Gifts, Trusts and Estates with speaker Christopher A. Desimone, Attorney at Law. Meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM. Rebecca Donehew, Secretary |

The September 16, 2015 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. Motion below was made to pay the amount due for the maintenance of the BRCEA website by William Barbour and second by Benny Montgomery. Motion: The Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents authorize and pay the following expenses for the Chapter's Web Site for 2015 thru 2016.
The education portion of the meeting began at 12:20 with Christopher A. Desimone presenting a program on Issues Affecting Taxation of Gifts, Trusts and Estates. The October 21, 2015 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. Motion was made by Gunther Greimel and seconded by Benny Montgomery to approve the minutes as posted on the web site for June 17, 2015. Motion was made by Gunther Greimel and seconded by Benny Montgomery to approve the minutes as posted on the web site for September 16, 2015. Treasurer, Gunther Greimel gave a Treasurer's report. David Tanner thanked Gail Abbott for planning the education for 2015. David Tanner reminded the Nominating Committee we have elections in December. David Tanner reminded everyone dues will be due on January 1 and are $25.00. David Tanner noted we don't currently have a Membership Committee Chair and asked the Nominating Committee Chair, Benny Montgomery to add that to the Nominating Committee recommendations. David Tanner announced Ley Mills, with the IRS, will be doing our January 20, 1016 meeting via telephone. A vote for the topic was held and AUR/Correspondence Exam was selected. Gail Abbott began her presentation on Tax Considerations in Hiring Caregivers at 1:00 p.m. and finished at 2:00 p.m. One (1) hour of CE will be awarded for all who signed the sign-in sheet. Our next meeting will be on December 16 at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke. The topic will be Net Operating Loss by Benny Montgomery. The meeting adjourned at 2:05. Charles Spencer, Acting Secretary |
