The September 17, 2014 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by David Tanner. No treasurer's report was given. David passed out registration information for the upcoming VASEA Current Tax Issues Seminar in October. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:19 PM and Charles Spencer concluded part two of Students and Taxation & Education Credits which was very informative and well presented. The program concluded a 1:19 PM. The next meeting will take place at Famous Anthony's 460 in Roanoke VA on October 15, 2014. There will be presentation on business practice. The October 15, 2014 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. by David Tanner. No treasurer's report was given. Announcements were made - There will be no Blue Ridge Chapter meeting in November due to the Virginia Tech and NCPE classes available in November. The education portion of the meeting began at 12:20 PM with Tom Tanner presenting. The topic was Advertising and Documentation. The education portion concluded at 1:20 PM, with one hour of CPE earned. The December meeting is to be announced. The meeting adjourned at 1:30. Rebecca Donehew, Secretary |

The December meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Lynchburg, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 Noon by David Tanner. Motion was made by Charles Spencer to retain web site for Blue Ridge Chapter and to pay the applicable fees seconded by Nancy Lynch. Motion carried. Presented information for the January meeting for a round table discussion on the ACA in a format approved by the IRS. Meeting set for January 21, 2015, at Famous Anthony's Roanoke, VA, at the 460 location. Announcement that we are on a calendar year and dues for the upcoming year are payable in January 2015. Grace G. Robelen, EA, presented the education portion of the meeting with a presentation on Domestic Production Activities Deduction. There were handout work sheets to show how the credit is calculated the tax return. Education began at 1:05 PM and ended at 2:06 PM One hour of CPE will be awarded for this meeting.
