The June 18, 2014, meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Lynchburg, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by David Tanner. A Treasurer's report was given and was accepted as given. Discussion was held to appoint an education committee to participate in event planning and education coordination. The committee will consist of Gail Abbott, Committee Chair, Mike Harrison, and Anne Wood. Proposal was made by Charles Spencer to replace search engine on our web site (brcea.org) with another at a cost not to exceed $255.00. Mike Harrison second. Motion carried. Education on Partnership and S-Corp K-1 presented by Gail Abbott began at 12:40 p.m. and ended at 1:43 p.m. A question and answer session followed the presentation. The July 16, 2014 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by David Tanner and the treasurer's report was given. The report was accepted as given. Charles Spencer gave an update concerning a conference call. The date for the state and federal update seminar will be the last Monday and Tuesday of October. The Seminar will be held in Lynchburg, Virginia. A motion made by Charles Spencer to approve all unapproved minutes. This motion was seconded by Gunther Greimel. The motion was passed. Michael Harrison will be presenting August education; location to be announced. Education program on Students and Taxation was presented by Charles Spencer began at 12:25 and was completed at 1:20. The meeting was called to order at 12:21 p.m. by David Tanner. No treasurer's report was given.
