The June 19, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Super China Buffet in Lynchburg, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by David Tanner, President. Information will be posted on the website concerning programs for continuing education for this year. Any cost will be set at the time of the program according to our expenses for the presentation. David reminded members that chapter dues are payable now in the amount of $25.00. The program for the month was on Adoption Credits presented by David Tanner. One hour of continuing education credit will be given. The meeting adjourned at 1:50 p.m. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary |

The July 17, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p m by David Tanner, President. Minutes of the June meeting were approved as posted. Gunther Greimel gave a treasurer's report. There will be a two hour presentation on Ethics for our December meeting. The August 21st meeting will be at Ippy's in Rocky Mount and the September meeting will be moved to the 4th Wednesday (September 25th) instead of the third Wednesday as some members have conflicts with that date. The meeting will be in Lynchburg. Educational seminars through December, 2013 were discussed and the times and places will be posted on the website. A one hour seminar (Program Number QSRNU-T-00057-13-I) on Earned Income Credit was presented by Rebecca Donehew. Upon motion the meeting was adjourned. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary |

The August 21, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Ippy's in Rocky Mount, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by Michael Harrison, Vice-President. There was discussion of a nominating committee for the election of officers but no action was taken at this time. Susan Lynch was a guest of the group. She spoke briefly of the past year she has spent in India working with at risk women and children with the group Rahab's Rope. Benny Montgomery was our speaker on the Trust Fund Recovery penalty as covered in part 5 of the Internal Revenue Manual. This program will conclude at the September meeting in Lynchburg. One hour of CPE will be granted for this session. Upon motion, the meeting was adjourned. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary |
