The January 16, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous A's in Roanoke, Virginia. David Tanner, President, called the meeting to order at 12:08 p.m. David announced that our next meeting will be on April 17, 2013, the place to be determined later, the topic will be a roundtable discussion of the tax season. David indicated Heather Greenwell and Steve Rue would be attending. Charles Spencer reported the following: January 9, 2013 VASEA – Conference Call Critical to get PTINs and submitted to VASEA immediately – VASEA only has 10 days to submit Can not advertise CE without approval – can say Pending Financial Statements must be submitted timely – Quarterly and Year End VASEA would like a Membership Person in each Chapter – Jennifer Davis is Membership Chair (Sharon Warren agreed to be the Chapter's Membership Person) Meeting minutes must be sent to Heather in a timely manner VASEA would like a PR Person in each Chapter (Michael G. Harrison agreed to be the Chapter's PR Person) VASEA is reaching out to Roanoke College News Flash – Filing Season starts January 30 Another News Flash – Lockbox Addresses for Virginia have changed. Going to KY Virginia News Flash – VATAX is reminding everyone of the Consumer's Use Tax – You are warned The IRS has announced a simplified option for Home Office The IRS has released Rev. Proc. 2013-15 with inflation adjustments Reminded attendees of IRS Webinars Beginning at 12:39 p.m. Charles Spencer, EA began the Roundtable Discussion on the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. He concluded at 1:40 p.m. One hour of Continuing Education will be awarded to all participates that signed in, remained for the entire session and listed their PTINs. Charles R. The April 17, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by David Tanner, President. The chapter welcomed Steve Rue, State President and Heather Greenwell, Administrator to the meeting. President Rue spoke to the group on the plans and programs the state society is undertaking and asked for ideas on things the state could plan that would help our local chapter. There were several suggestions made and acknowledgement of previous recommendations made by Charles Spencer in past conversations with the state society. The May 15th meeting will be at Ippy's in Rocky Mount. Upon motion, the meeting was adjourned. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary

The May 15, 2013 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Ippy's in Rocky Mount, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by David Tanner,nbsp;President. Although we are due to have elections in June, because of conforming to the state and national association, current officers will serve until December 31, 2013. Elections should be held in December and the nomination committee should be appointed in October as there will be no regular meeting in November. Motion was made by Gunther Griemel seconded by Charles Spencer for members to pay $25.00 dues thru December 31, 2013. David has received information from the state association concerning continuing education material to be available from Tax Books with orders through the state society. Charles Spencer presented a program on Bartering Income with the members receiving one hour of continuing education. The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary
