The June 20, 2012 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Vinny's in Lynchburg, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p m by Michael Harrison, Vice-President. Motion was made by Charles Spencer seconded by Benny Montgomery to approve the minutes of the May meeting. Samuel Duerson, III of Northwestern Mutual presented a program on Long Term Care Insurance. The July meeting will be held at Famous Anthony's on 460 in Roanoke. The July 18, 2012 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's on Route 460 in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p m by David Tanner, President. Motion was made by Charles Spencer seconded by Michael Harrison to approve the minutes of the June 20, 2012 meeting as presented. Treasurer's report presented by "Fritz" Greimel was approved as presented. He also reported that dues of $5.00 are due this month. The web site fee for this year is $340.00 and is due now. It is possible the amount of dues will have to be increased. David reported that he is getting membership pins to be presented for length of membership. David Tanner, retired minister and EA presented one hour of continuing education on the preparation of ministers' tax returns. He will present another hour on the subject at the August 15, 2012 meeting to be held at Famous Anthony's in Roanoke, Va. This meeting will also be at the Route 460 location. The August 15, 2012 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's on Orange Avenue in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p m by David Tanner, President. Motion was made by Charles Spencer seconded by Mike Harrison to approve the minutes of the July meeting and the treasurer's report as presented. The treasurer is to pay our web-site bill for the coming year. There was discussion on the programs for the balance of 2012. The September meeting will be in Rocky Mount at Ippy's and Brian Hamilton of Agabus Solutions will speak on "Safeguarding Your Data". The program for October will be one hour of Ethics to be in Lynchburg and December will be one hour Ethics to be in Rocky Mount. David Tanner, retired minister and EA presented a second hour of continuing education on the preparation of ministers' tax returns. Upon motion, the meeting was adjourned. Nancy H. Lynch, Secretary |
