The June 16, 2010 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony’s on Williamson Road in Roanoke, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by William D. Barbour, President. The minutes of the May 19, 2010 meeting were approved as posted. Ms. Kelli Hopkins, Vice President and Nan Mahone Wellborn of Conservation Partners presented information on Virginia Land Preservation Tax Credits and the benefits for both buyers and sellers of such credits. One hour of continuing education will be awarded. Our State President, Rosemary McMahon and Patricia Inman, a member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of VASEA attended the meeting and discussed the local chapter with the members present. The July 21, 2010 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Ippy's Restaurant, Rocky Mount, VA. The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. by William Barbour. Dues of members are $25.00 and are due in July. Motion was made by Sharon Warren seconded by Charles Spencer to approve the minutes of the June 16, 2010 meeting as presented. John Gunther, recently retired from the Internal Revenue Service, gave a two-hour presentation on the Indicators of Tax Fraud the IRS would look for. Said presentation will be continued at the August 18 meeting. The August 18, 2010 meeting will be at Famous Anthony's on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Va. with any additional information to be posted on the web site. The August 18, 2010 meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Virginia Society of Enrolled Agents was held at Famous Anthony's on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Va. The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m. by William Barbour, President. Motion was made by Sharon Warren seconded by David Tanner to approve the minutes of the July 21, 2010 meeting as posted. David Tanner gave the group the name of Amanda Hunt of the IRS who is willing to come and speak before our group. Treasurer's report was given by Gunther Greimel. The September 15, 2010 meeting place and topic will be posted on the web-site as there was discussion regarding a change in speaker for September and October. John Gunter, speaker, completed his Indicators of Tax Fraud topic of the last meeting at 1:45 pm. One hour of continuing education will be given. Upon motion the meeting was adjourned. Nancy H.
