The meeting was held at Golden Corral in Lynchburg, VA. Charles Spencer brought up information on the web site. Charles mentioned that we could keep our expanded version of the web site, which included various links and information, or a cut down version. The cut down version was cheaper. A motion was made and seconded to keep the current expanded version and to request a bill and to pay immediately for the October 2003 to October 2004 and the October 2004 to October 2005 period. Benny Montgomery then presented 1 CEU on Ethics. It was an excellent presentation and a rousing success! The next meeting will be held on June 16, 2000 at Buck Mountain Grille in Roanoke, VA. The meeting was held at the Buck Mountain Grille in Roanoke, VA. Nancy Lynch called the meeting to order and mentioned the Virginia Society's seminar on IRS/VA Dept. of Taxation - Current Tax Issues to be held in Fredericksburg on July 8 & 9. Mike Harrison then introduced our speaker Robert (Bob) Prettyman from the Virginia Employment Commission. Bob spoke on Unemployment Tax issues. Bob spoke on two new pieces of legislation that are taking effect on July 1. He also spoke on the 2004 Tax Rates and answered many questions from those in attendance. Bob handed out a most useful "cheat sheet" on Exempt and Reportable Wages. We would like to thank Bob for his fine presentation. The next meeting was tentatively scheduled for Rocky Mount and the September meeting was tentatively scheduled for Danville. Respectfully Submitted, Charles R. The meeting was held at Ippy's in Rocky Mount, VA. Gail Abbott was the guest speaker and led an informative talk on changes in the state and federal tax returns for the 2004 tax year. Discussion was also held regarding a cooperative effort between NAEA and NATP. Nancy Lynch mentioned that the idea had been approached. The group asked for more information and this will be brought up in a future meeting. Nancy also mentioned that the Virginia Society's books had been audited by a (gasp) CPA firm.
